The Marketing Eye launches ‘Mentor Me' - a new mentoring service for practicing marketers

chartered_marketer_logo_large.jpgThe Marketing Eye has launched a new service aimed at supporting the people within businesses who have responsibility for marketing but need an injection of experience and advice to help them increase their marketing knowledge and skills.

Mentor Me provides an experienced professional to coach, encourage, motivate and develop staff members.

"Quite often companies don't have the budget to employ a full-time marketing professional, so they end up relying on somebody who is already within the business," says Neil Edwards, managing director of The Marketing Eye. "Mentor Me provides a sounding board for those people to help them grow their marketing skills and perhaps work towards a recognised qualification."

Unlike a traditional outsourcing arrangement, the business remains responsible for the implementation of marketing activities, while Mentor Me supports the individual or the team to perform at a higher level and become skilled marketers.

Once a business has signed-up to Mentor Me, The Marketing Eye will work intensively with employees on a one-to-one basis or in a small group, focusing on the client's business and the team's specific development needs. This could include anything from applying marketing theory to managing a particular initiative.

"We anticipate that some clients might use Mentor Me on an ongoing basis, while others might dip in and out depending on what support they need and what's going on in the business at the time," says Neil.

The Marketing Eye can also support marketing students who are working towards their CIM or post-graduate qualifications.

"We provide a one-to-one mentoring service to complement the support a student is already receiving from their college or tutor," explains Neil. "We can help students to marry the theory they learn at college to practical examples, structure a convincing paper and generally help with the understanding of what they are learning."

He continues: "I have been working in marketing for more than 20 years and have helped a variety of businesses to succeed with their marketing initiatives. With this experience and expertise under my belt, I am keen to help the next generation of marketers.
