Early feedback from the event has been excellent.  The team felt it gave them good insight and ideas that they can use with their customers.

Thanks again for an excellent day.

Neil shares his experiences with readers of The Sunday Times

Neil Edwards, Managing Director of The Marketing Eye, took the life-changing decision to move from a secure job in the corporate world to join his wife Jan in the Uckfield-based company, which she had launched in 2005. Neil left behind a good salary and all the benefits which go with a job in banking to join Jan in growing the marketing business in early 2008. His experiences were outlined in an article in The Sunday Times this weekend (October 31), which looked at how top executives can be tempted to join young firms and help to transform them.

Neil spent 23 years at The Royal Bank of Scotland – enjoying a good salary, options and benefits package – but he had always dreamt of running his own business. “By late 2007, I knew I had to decide to give it a go or else give up all ambition to be part of a small business, put my head down and work my way through to retirement,” said Neil.

Three years on, Neil and Jan head up a team in Uckfield which numbers nine people, who are working on a growing portfolio of clients. Neil added: “It’s been great. I’ve never looked back. I stand and fall on my own decisions. We certainly have less money, but profits have been growing steadily. Our rewards will come: we can see that and it is what keeps us focused and motivated.”
