Local businesses turn out in force for the opening of The Marketing EyeFriday, 18 December 2009
The threat of snow didn’t deter more than 30 local businesses from being represented at the opening of The Marketing Eye’s new offices in central Uckfield on Thursday evening. The beamed offices in Nelson House, decorated with Christmas trees and lights, made the perfect setting for a social gathering. A jazz duet entertained the 50 guests as the room buzzed all evening with networking and social chatter. Neil Edwards, MD of The Marketing Eye said: “We were delighted to be joined by so many clients and friends on what was a very special occasion for us. The move into Uckfield is the next step in our growth plans and we hope, not only to be the first choice for Uckfield businesses and their marketing requirements, but an employer of choice too”. The Marketing Eye currently employs 6 people and plans to take on 2 more in the near future. Amongst the guests were many of the local businesses that The Marketing Eye has used to fit out the new premises. Tim Knibbs of Knibbs Computer Services Ltd, which handled all of the IT requirements, said: “It is great to see local businesses choosing and supporting each other in this way. Hopefully more and more businesses will ‘buy local’ in 2010. Guest Cathy Watson of Cathy Watson Associates said: “There was a great atmosphere in lovely surroundings”.
