David Mansfield appointed Chairman of Shadow Foundr
Shadow Foundr, the private investor network and crowdfunding platform that encourages the crowd to follow the lead of experienced investors into early-stage companies, has appointed David Mansfield as Chairman of its Advisory Board. Formerly Chairman and CEO of Capital Radio Group, David brings 30 years’ business experience to the Shadow Foundr team, encompassing a wide range of companies and sectors.
He spent his early career in the commercial operations of Scottish Television PLC and Thames Television PLC. Following successful periods in both organisations, generating improved adverting revenues and creating diversified revenue streams, he joined the main board of Capital Radio PLC as Commercial Director. During the following 13 years, the company successfully outperformed most other mainstream consumer facing media, growing from two London radio stations to a national organisation owning radio stations in the major conurbations throughout the UK.
Shadow Foundr Director and Chief Operations Officer, Jason Kluver, said: “The company is delighted to have secured David’s services. He is a proven performer with fantastic business contacts, having been a Director and or Chairman of several well-known publicly listed companies.”
“His commercial experience will help focus and drive us to deliver our shareholders real value and enable Shadow Foundr to become one of the key players in the growing Alternative Finance space.”
Commenting on his appointment, David said: “I am excited about getting involved in a company that is shaking up the existing crowdfunding model. Alternative finance is here to stay, but the current crowdfunding model is not quite right in my view.”
David added: “What appealed to me about Shadow Foundr was that their model was not about simply luring the crowd, but about having the crowd follow the lead of experienced investors. I believe that model is the right model moving forward and one which will ensure Shadow Foundr’s success in this rapidly growing space.”
David has already started working with the Shadow Foundr team, as it concludes its current round of funding.
