CooperBurnett expands its Residential Property team

As confidence in the housing market in the south east grows, the Residential Property department at CooperBurnett in Tunbridge Wells has been expanded to welcome two new team members - Associate Solicitors, Adrian Whichcord and Elizabeth Philp.

Adrian has joined the team from Batchelors in Bromley, where he worked for ten years, dealing with a varied case load from site acquisitions for developers through to commercial landlord and tenant work.

Adrian has joined CooperBurnett to concentrate on what he enjoys the most - helping people to buy and sell their homes. In his new role, Adrian is covering all aspects of residential property work, from the first time buy to high value and complex transactions.

Elizabeth has worked in conveyancing for more than ten years in practice in West Sussex. Her experience includes dealing with every aspect of residential conveyancing, including leasehold and freehold transactions, as well as re-mortgages, transfer of equity and lease extensions.

Adrian and Elizabeth have joined a Residential Property team at CooperBurnett which already includes Jennifer Irving and is headed up by Jonathan Smithers. Jonathan was actively involved in developing the Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS), a best practice accreditation scheme from the Law Society. He is currently Deputy Vice President of the Law Society - and is set to become President next year - and Chair of the Conveyancing and Land Law Committee.

"The marketplace is much busier now than it has been and we needed to increase our team," says Jonathan Smithers. "We were looking for team members who share the same high service ethos as we do here and in Adrian and Elizabeth we've found those people."
